ELBOW FLEXION CONTRACTURE

The elbow joint is a “hinge” joint which offers flexion and extension. Due to this fact, it has no compensations possibilities and doesn’t react well to injuries. In result, painful syndromes and immobilization make the elbow stiff and do not allow to extend it. A stiff elbow refers to those people who experience pain or problems when extending their elbow greater than 30 degrees. The cause of a stiff elbow may include injuries, biceps tendon tear, arthritis or neurological and congenital conditions. Stiff elbow brace MS-L-01 is a high quality orthopedic device offering smooth elbow stretching.
Our upper extremity brace MS-L-01 is made of anatomic shaped lightweight ABS fabric and innovative stretching mechanism.
The mechanism is made of bolt and two screws assembled to the ABS panel. This solution allows to receive smooth adjustment of the angle between arm and forearm. When the required angle is done, there is only necessary to screw the bolt to avoid involuntary angle changing.

Such solution and innovative design of our MS-L-01 stiff elbow brace allow to increase the elbow extension day by day and prevents against flexion contractures effectively.
The ABS element is covered with ightweight and skin-friendly thermoformated fabric Active3D™.

Additionally, our brace is equipped with special silicone pad which maintains the olecranon in one place and prevents against sliding.

Our stiff elbow brace MS-L-01 is a perfect fulfilment therapy for exercises and allows to prolong the effects of physiotherapy.
Our elbow stretching brace will be excellent prevention against upper limb spasticity in case of stroke, brain hemorrhage or post-traumatic injury.

MATERIALS

Active3D™

Active3D™ is thermoformed fabric made of special foamed, cell-closed designed material. It reduces the pressure on the body or any abrasions made by orthopaedic stays and aluminum splints. It is fully waterproof fabric and does not absorb sweat. It’s easy to clean. Due to its features, the fabric is an excellent product for making medical orthopaedic braces and orthoses. ACTIVE 3D™ has various external self-gripping layers. Our material has special, thermoformed properties and may be shaped according to the functional goals of the final braces.

STIFFENINGS

Upper limb shell

The shell of the upper limb is made of an openwork form of two anatomically formed ABS elements connected with an elbow hinge. Rotary buckles are attached to the shell to enable the fitting of the circumferential straps on the limb. It is also equipped with metal elements with adjustable screw that is used to maintain the correct position of the upper limb. Velcro fasteners have been glued on the inside of the shells, which enable attaching to the shells the soft 3D relief pads.

PADDINGS

3D supports

3D relief supports are independent technical solutions to relieve the rigid elements of a given orthosis. These elements are made of supporting foams or EVA foam. These foams are connected with various types of skin-friendly materials and materials with an adhesive function. These pads have the appropriate shape and color adapted to the type of orthosis. They relieve both metal elements of orthoses, such as splints, stays, underwires and orthopedic drop locks, as well as other elements that should not come into direct contact with the patient's skin. These pads have an anatomical shape and are made of comfortable foam with proper hardness and elasticity, guaranteeing the proper therapeutic effect.
