Osteoarthritis of the knee 

Osteoarthritis of the knee (OA), also known as osteoarthritis, is usually the result of wear and progressive loss of articular cartilage. It is most common in older people and can be divided into two types: primary and secondary. Primary osteoarthrosis of the knee involves degeneration of the joint with no apparent cause. Secondary osteoarthrosis is the consequence of an abnormal concentration of force in the joint due to trauma or chronic inflammatory conditions, i.e. rheumatoid arthritis (RA). 

The main symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee are pain and stiffness in the joint and problems with movement. Some people also experience symptoms such as swelling, excessive tenderness of the joint or grating or crackling when moving the affected joints. 

Osteoarthritis is a long-term condition and cannot be cured, but painful symptoms can be reduced. One way to reduce inflammation in the knee is to use a OA Spiral Dynamic Unloading Knee Brace, type ATTACK PRO, which is designed to maintain knee alignment.

The ATACK PRO OA knee brace is designed to maintain physiological knee alignment and improve knee function.  

The brace relieves pain associated with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee through a pressure relieving mechanism at both the tibiofemoral (TF) and patellofemoral (PF) joints.  

The ATTACK PRO brace corrects the angle of the distal segment (below) of the leg in relation to the portion above the knee. The brace reduces the varus or valgus knee symptoms and decreases the joint pain.  

The ATTACK PRO OA knee brace has an innovative design. Equipped with a lateral splint, it perfectly absorbs socks and relieves pressure on the knee joint, including the meniscus, and promotes extension movement. 

Patellofemoral pain is reduced via realignment of the joint with special patellar pad which prevents against the kneecap dislocation and improves knee motion.

The compression of the patellar pressure can be adjusted individually according to the user’s needs with the use of periarticular tapes.  

Dynamic spiral unloading straps relief aligns the knee joint, increase joint surface contact and improve physiological knee mobility. 

The ATTACK PRO dynamic spiral unloading OA knee brace has a wrap around design, making it easy to put on and take off for people with limited manual dexterity. This also provides an adjustable fit, allowing users with larger than thighs or calves to comfortably adjust and wear the brace.  

The dynamic straps of the brace are padded with silicone to prevent uncontrolled movement of the brace during use.  

The removable condylar cushion pad fills the space between the lateral splint and the femoral condyle, increasing comfort and relieving pressure on bony prominences.  

The brace is made of breathable, lightweight, hypoallergenic materials that keep the user’s skin dry and oxygenated. The bottom of the knee brace is made of a special elastic, highly durable mesh, which ensures constant oxygenation and a perfect fit of the product and increases its comfort. 

The OA ATTACK PRO dynamic OA knee brace is an extremely lightweight and low-profile design. As a result, it can easily be worn under normal clothing. It is almost imperceptible on the limb during use. It will also not interfere with daily activities. 

The ATTACK PRO knee brace provides consistent compression, improves biomechanics of the anterior surface of the knee, increases proprioception and reduces pain in knees with osteoarthritis.

Active3D™

Active3D™ is thermoformed fabric made of special foamed, cell-closed designed material. It reduces the pressure on the body or any abrasions made by orthopaedic stays and aluminum splints. It is fully waterproof fabric and does not absorb sweat. It’s easy to clean. Due to its features, the fabric is an excellent product for making medical orthopaedic braces and orthoses. ACTIVE 3D™ has various external self-gripping layers. Our material has special, thermoformed properties and may be shaped according to the functional goals of the final braces.

AeroSpace™

AeroSpace™ is an innovative new generation raw material. It is a distance elastic 3D knitted fabric consisting of two layers of facings and an interlacing that creates the appropriate thickness of the raw material and has relieving properties. The knitwear is made of the highest quality polyester yarn - guaranteeing high mechanical strength and spandex ensuring its proper flexibility. This material is characterized by a very low weight, high flexibility and a very large openwork structure, allowing for very easy drainage of sweat from the body and bringing fresh air to the skin. Products made of this raw material are neutral to the secured joint, do not heat or cool it, but ensure its proper compression and fit and reduce muscle vibrations generated during physical exertion. Its thickness and 3D structure perfectly relieves the orthopedic splints, stays or other elements mounted on the product and guarantees velvety softness to the touch.

PADDINGS

2D supports

2D supports are, apart from 3D supports, the second type of supports used in the production of orthoses. They are made of various types of relieving foams and have very different shapes. The special feature of these pelottes is that, unlike the 3D pelottes, they are not independent parts of the orthosis, but only their parts, that must be sewn between the materials from which the orthosis is made to work properly. These pads have an anatomical shape and are made of comfortable foam with proper hardness and elasticity, which guarantees the proper therapeutic effect.

3D supports

3D relief supports are independent technical solutions to relieve the rigid elements of a given orthosis. These elements are made of supporting foams or EVA foam. These foams are connected with various types of skin-friendly materials and materials with an adhesive function. These pads have the appropriate shape and color adapted to the type of orthosis. They relieve both metal elements of orthoses, such as splints, stays, underwires and orthopedic drop locks, as well as other elements that should not come into direct contact with the patient's skin. These pads have an anatomical shape and are made of comfortable foam with proper hardness and elasticity, guaranteeing the proper therapeutic effect.
