Shoulder fracture

Shoulder fractures occur as a result of trauma or injury to the shoulder from a fall (e.g. on the snow), car accident or any direct blow to the shoulder. The shoulder is made up of the upper arm bone, the collarbone and the shoulder blade. It’s a ball and socket joint with a huge range of motion, limited only by soft tissues such as muscles, joint capsule or ligaments. When the fracture occurs, the soft tissues such as ligaments or tendons may be torn what results in shoulder hypermobility. Shoulder fracture may include clavicle, humerus or scapula injury.

In case of shoulder fracture, in both conservative treatment or surgery, the joint immobilization is required. In this way, all of soft tissues such as ligaments or tendons have neutral position what offers faster recovery. Product’s description

Shoulder abduction brace with therapy ball OKG-08 is a perfect on size product, offering comfort and effectiveness. It provides excellent comfort for the patient recovering from surgery while providing multiple options of postoperative support. Maintains shoulder abduction in 20 degrees. It can be applied in case of a variety of shoulder injuries, also as a po-op arm brace.

Our one size shoulder abduction brace consists of 4 elements:

• One size innovative forearm sleeve
• Convertible Abduction Pillow (20° Abduction)
• Soft therapy ball
• Quick release shoulder and waist straps

Arm and forearm sleeve has innovative anatomic design. It offers perfect fitting and smooth circumferential adjustment and may be used together with cast. The sleeve is open designed and doesn’t limit air flow. It also allows to control the skin condition. OKG-08 sling part is made of skin friendly breathable AeroSpace III™.

One size shoulder brace OKG-08 is equipped with contoured pillow made of dense foam,. The cushion provides 20 degrees of abduction for optimal support and recovery. The abduction pillow is contoured to fit the body for all-day comfort. It can be used for both, right and left shoulder.

A foam exercise ball is also attached to the abduction pillow to help stimulate blood circulation through the arm and shoulder, promoting faster recovery times. Squeezing the ball improves the blood circulation, improve muscle and soft tissue oxygenation. What is more, regular upper limb exercising by gripping the ball, prevents against the dengarour Volkmann contracture.

The harness straps are connected with the abduction cushion and may be fully adjustable for a customized fit and optimal positioning. Quick release buckle straps with length adjustment providing patient independence. You can put the brace on and adjust single-handedly. The straps are made of skin friendly breathable SoftComfort™ for optimal comfort of using.

This shoulder abduction brace with therapy ball OKG-08 works wonders for the recovery process and pain relief from a variety of injuries and conditions. Made of the highest quality lightweight materials offers perfect shoulder post-injury or post-surgery immobilization. May be used together with the cast. AeroSpace III™

AeroSpace III™ is an innovative new generation raw material. It is a distance elastic 3D knitted fabric consisting of two layers of facings and an interlacing that creates the appropriate thickness of the raw material and has relieving properties. The knitwear is made of the highest quality polyester yarn - guaranteeing high mechanical strength and spandex ensuring its proper flexibility. AeroSpaceIII ™ has an external and internal self-gripping layer what makes it easy to adjust each product to individual patient’s needs. This material is characterized by a very low weight, high flexibility and a very large openwork structure, allowing for very easy drainage of sweat from the body and bringing fresh air to the skin. Products made of this raw material are neutral to the secured joint, do not heat or cool it, but ensure its proper compression and fit and reduce muscle vibrations generated during physical exertion. Its thickness and 3D structure perfectly relieves the orthopedic splints, stays or other elements mounted on the product and guarantees velvety softness to the touch.

SoftComfort™

SoftComfort™ - a material specially designed to relieve very delicate places on the patient's body. The cover knit used in the production is made in such a way that it can come into contact with very sensitive skin. This raw material has the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate and complies with the European REACH standard. The structure of the material consists of a very soft comfort foam laminated with a delicate cover knit. The fabric has a perforation that facilitates the flow of air through the material and allows the skin to breathe. The SoftComfort™ material is perfect for the production of linings relieving the rigid and inflexible elements of orthopedic orthoses.
