SPINAL DEFORMITY

By spinal deformity, we mean an abnormal alignment or curvature of the bony column that makes up the spine. Symptoms of spinal deformities can include visible curvature, muscle imbalance and pain. Each deformity severely affects the musculoskeletal, respiratory and nervous systems.

Spinal deformities includes frontal, sagittal and rotation abnormalities.

Spine deformities are divided into abnormal kyphosis, lordosis and scoliosis. Kyphosis involves excessive forward bending of the upper back, which is popularly known as a hump. Deepened lordosis is a deformity of the misaligned lower back. Scoliosis, on the other hand, is a complex deformity that includes lateral, anterior-posterior and rotational (transverse) deformities. The reason of this condition is not fully known and may be the result of genetic or environmental conditions (unsuitable desk, too much time in a sitting position, etc.).

In advanced spinal conditions, where the deformations already directly affect the bones, surgery is required. In the case of non-fixed curvatures, rehabilitation and passive correction of the spine is an effective form of therapy. Until now, spinal deformities, including scoliosis, have been treated with rigid spinal corsets. These orthoses are inherently static, rigid and have a passive action. Such products, like traditional spinal corsets, limit the mobility of the spine and do not work with the user’s musculoskeletal system.

The AM-TX-08 active spinal brace is an advanced medical device that provides correction of spinal curvatures. In combination with systematic physiotherapy, the brace maintains the effects achieved during therapy and prevents further deformity.

The brace is made of lightweight aluminum pad and high quality elastic straps.

The AM-TX-08 active soft spinal brace allows spinal mobility while applying controlled corrective forces, which are adjusted by changing the compression of the elastic tapes.

The aluminum frame can be freely shaped to achieve the best possible fit to the current shape of the spine.

The system of independent elastic straps, by providing custom compression in each part of the spine, allows the spine to maintain physiological linearity. The independent adjustment of the straps allows for effective correction of the spinal position in the frontal, sagittal and transverse planes.

The use of the AM-TX-08 back brace is extremely simple and intuitive. By firmly tightening the elastic straps, a corrective force effect is achieved, which aligns the spine in the central line. The gentle tensioning of the straps provides stabilization and a point of support for the spine, which prevents unwanted spinal compensation.
